I’ve shopped on a few of these websites before, good selection. A mix of pleasing aesthetics and easy navigation and they have always made my shopping experience feel safe and secure.

Good tips. The lack of a search box on e-commerce websites is something I really hate, as it can take a long time to navigate to the right product without it.

Very first I would like to congratulate you for this tips.
I would request to give some tips of about fast loading as max. nos of e-commerce and CMS sites are module based and depends on open source platforms so what need to be customized to make it faster?
I accept your advice about check out time but it is necessary to get rid of spammers because they don’t have much time/patience to go through a long tedious process…. I may be wrong but these is my idea.

You have missed out Security issue. While the design elements and everything else is great, if customers are not satisfied with the checkout process and it’s security then you will have plenty of abandoned basket.

Thanks for the tips, having just started working on e-commerce sites myself its very useful to have this tips. Its definitely a good idea to keep the checkout simple and give the option of signing in as a guest, you don’t want to be losing potential customers at that stage.
