How do you integrate raster and vector images in a website so it looks seamless? What tricks/tips do you have?

I would first convert raster images to vector images for a much higher resolution (www.makeuseof.com) and then I would embed it on a web page. "seamless"? Do you mean so that the image can seem like it is an integral part of the web page?
