Flashloaded 3D Wall Giveaway

A few weeks ago I wrote a tutorial introducing you to Papervision 3D. The tutorial explains how to create the beginnings of a simple 3D Gallery. If you want a fully functional 3d Gallery, you could do one of two things: pick up where the tutorial leaves off and put in a few hundred hours of development, or simply let us give you one of three copies of Flashloaded’s 3D Wall.

About 3D Wall

3D Wall is a Flash CS3 component that allows you to create engaging and highly interactive 3D environments for images with no ActionScript skills needed. Some of the key features include mouse and keyboard interactivity, depth of field, and external XML file support. With over 60 customizable settings, this component allows you to create an unlimited number of truly unique interfaces.

How to Win

We are giving away three copies of this component. To be eligible to win, all you have to do is leave a comment about your thoughts on 3D Wall or why you deserve a free copy. On June 9, 2008, three random people will be selected from the pool of comments, and contacted by email.

Update: We are extending the giveaway one more week. The new drawing day will be June 16, 2008.

Hi there, my first comment since I subscribed on the feed. Yay :p

They’re giving away copies at webdesignerwall too, this thing seems to be popular!

As I have said on wdw, as a webdesigner, I would probably try and develop my own portfolio, but this thing is just too neat to not use. I’d buy it if I had the money (and in case I wouldn’t win one :p)

3D Wall looks like it was made by Apple - smooth & sexy!
Why I deserve it?! Well, I am launching my new website on the 1st of June and guess what is missing! ;-)
BTW. Great site - I already subscribed to it (and your free paper brushes are great!).

    Greetings from Germany,
    Marco

Why I deserve this: I am attempting to start a website for documentary photographers - I am in my last year at Guilford College in North Carolina where I maintain a 3.75 GPA. I have spent the past 8 weeks working 14-18 hour days building the site - even through finals. All this for a site that I won’t make any money from, but will give young photographers a place to be discovered.

I would appreciate this gem of technology more than any person you know (and it wouldn’t be bad for Flashloaded, either, since the visitors are primarily creative, young, photographers, and those who aren’t work at the top magazines and newspapers in the US and the UK).

And (not to kiss it at the last moment, but…) nice site! I found it looking through BestWebGallery - congrats.

After trying some of the demos, this is by far the best *gallery* I’ve seen. It’s so simple and functional, and yet the specs make it seem like a graphic workhorse.

I’ve been trying for a few months now to come up
with the best way to set up a real portfolio as I get better at photography, and getting something like this would be a push to buy a real website and go from hobbyist to amateur ( or other way around ;) ).

It’s actually quite a stunning approach to displaying a gallery using Flash and XML. It looks simple and eye-catchy. It also looks nifty in terms of user-friendliness and because of the intuitive controls, for that reason it’s very inviting for any user to roam and pan like a director’s Panavision camera. I imagine the workflow would be easy to use and maintain when new photos are awaiting the 3D Wall treatment. Would love the opportunity to work with the Flash component and make the best of it.

This reminds me of a FireFox addon I use called Piclens. Both of these create an interesting interactive experience. Cool stuff.

As a current Dell user it looks fricken brilliant!

We don’t get much clean & fancy stuff for the PC, it’s applications like this that allow the rest of the world to enjoy something functional as well as formal.

This would make an excellent development and design tool. I can think of 2 current projects that would be interested in this technology.

Oh, and don’t fret I’m making the giant pc-mac leap on the next laptop (which will be soon as my productivity needs a boost… dell doesn’t want to run an adobe app. for more than 20 mins. without crashing :o, >.< ).

    Cheers guys,
and great website! keep up the good work ( :

I’m about to quit at the place I’m working at and planning on opening my own website design company.

I want to get all the help I can get, as one of the main reason I’m quitting is that they are paying me way too little.

    Please I really need this…

Well, I don’t know what would actually constitute deserving this sort of thing. I’d like to have it, since I’m going to be putting my site down this summer for a redesign whenever EE 2.0 hits the streets. So in the interim I’d use this handy little widget to display my updated portfolio instead of having a lame holding page.

Your 3D Wall is a fantastic example of using Flash CS3’s potentiel to make something fantastic and actually usefull. Smooth stylish and dynamic. I’ve been using less and less Flash over the last year or so as I’ve been getting more and more into jQuery and it’s animation (thank you for the horizontal accordion, by the way). But this component just threw me back into “Oh My God, Flash! <3″ mode.

I have convinced my boss (french web agency) to get the plugin, so I may have a chance to play around with it at work. But in the spirit of the give-away, I’d love to have my own personal version to use for my personal website and portfolio, to showcase my photography and web deisgn (website screenshots in place of photos? could work well).

Big kudos/congrats to the developpers, and thank you for the give-away.

    Regards,

    Mark Veldhuizen

This component is by far the most impressive one I’ve ever seen :) Congrats to the Flashloaded programming team, they definitely rock! They’ve proven they’re the best, once again! I simply love this component, I love the way you can move around the thumbnails, and I love the component is NOT a processing-resource eater.

I believe I deserve this component because I started working on a new website for my girlfriend, and we have lots of photos we’d love to share online with our friends. And besides that, I’m celebrating my 32nd birhtday on the 9th of June :) The Flashloaded 3D Wall component would be an amazing gift for me :)

First of all, very cool component!

Why I should get a free copy:

    1. I am about to turn 40 and need to have some cool tools to compete with all those smarter, hipper, younger, faster designers out there!

    2. I am horrible at math so I need a snazzy Flash component to do it for me.

    3. I will use it to better the world!

    Help me please!

Working on daily basis with Flash I just think this component is amazing and can help me to develop another great piece of art!

    My thought:
Roughly, there are three differnt types of design on building website.

    1, Functional design
    2, Impressive design
    3, Art work design

1 is mainly focused on marketing point of view.
2 is mainly focused on blanding.
3 is mainly focused on self expression.

3D Wall enable to make website more sophisticated.
Therefore, 3D Wall is best tool to amaze user,
    and enhance quality of website.

    Reason:
I deserve this free copy because I’m building webiste voluntary which provide fair trade Nepal Tea
    http://nepacha.com

Unfortunately, it is still under construction and
it’s in Japanese but I deserve people buy Nepal Tea
from our website because all of profit will be donated to NPO which
run free private literacy school for children who
can not go to public school because of poverty.

This activity is free of charge and there is no room to buy expensive tool, this is why I deserve this free copy.

Well im in the process of making a Multitouch interface, and i would really like to convert the single input papervision3D wall from FlashLoaded into a multitouch application…. and use it for my thesis project for university. I would buy it from flash loaded directly but sadly i can’t afford it on a students budget. The i’ve already gone over university budget that was allocated to me… If i don’t get a copy in this contest then i wont be able to use it in my project.
