With little in the way of fanfare the new Mac App Store launched this morning. Only time will tell if it will ever match the success of its big brother the iOS App store but it is safe to say its going to revolutionize the way software is distributed on the Mac at least.

You will probably already be familiar with much of whats on offer here (many of the launch titles are ported iOS apps) but we thought it would still be useful to compile a list of stand out launch titles.  If you think we have missed any please let us know in the comments and we will get them added.

Autodesk SketchBook Express

Aperture 3

Great stuff! Already downloaded the new twitter app and the pixel ruler, but afraid to say, I’ll probably spend the rest of the day playing angry birds, lol.

looks like the only apps that the app store recognizes is the iLife suite. nothing else. I have iwork installed as well but it failed to pick that up.
third party apps recognition is a think of the future in that case i guess

Text Wrangler is a very useful app. I still see special characters all over the web. Come on, people, at least check your work before publishing!

Andrew> TweetDeck must submit their app to the Mac App Store if they want to be listed.
