While the sites above do provide free stock photos I personally don't think most of the photos are great. To be entirely honest I even think iStock is getting the quality slip. I know about 90% of the photos I've purchased in the past now fall into their 'Vetta' category and cost twice as much.

So I say you get what you pay for. Go take your own photos of pay for some if you want professional photos for blog posts.
