Definitely by hand.  WYSIWYG editors are great for a quick mockup, but in the long run you want precise control over what markup is used.  Even with editing by hand, in less than a second you can load/reload the page in your browser to see what it looks like visually (and test the interaction with it)

Definitely by hand. In fact, I just wrote an article about Intype explaining how I started off as a visual coder and moved to hand coding. bit.ly editors are good for beginners to find their way, but I like the precise controls that hand coding gives. I just set up an apache server to see how it visually translates and use different browsers manually to recreate real life scenarios to troubleshoot code.

I find that I code by hand and it does what I want (IE is an exception - it has it's own mind).
I code everything by hand in notepad 2 then save refresh in wampserver.
But dealing with a beginner or amature that swears by Dreamweaver or other wysiwyg editors is a nightmare.
I ahnd my night and neat code valid html and these stupid wysiwyg editors mess the code up, add useless tag and elements and ruin the valid code. I ask why they use the editors.....
Response is its easy and I dont have to do much..... So Im open pages across browsers and its all broken bar IE. So by hand it the pro way. Wysiwyg is for noobs.

I like more to write the code in my own hand i feel i have more control of what i am doing i mean WYSIWYG is great when you want to make some tutorial or other easy and rapid stuff but for a professional work is better code your site by hand.
