Question
I know (X)HTML, CSS, Adobe Software(Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver). Is this enough? What else do I need to know if I would like to start a career in the web/graphic design field. Thank you.

Hello - I got a job with those skills - You should have a really good portfolio, and show that you can do different kinds of designs, not just the stuff that you like to do. Throw in a few tricks to show you are keeping up with modern trends. Make sure things are cross browser compatible. Try to specialize in something. Just as important are people skills. Employers look for someone who will fit in and work well with co-workers and clients.

Hey buddy,
cool... Its great that you have know more than 4 softwares. This is enough for a designer qualification. Now all you need to do is fire up your skills with this tools. You will get more knowledge only by working in a standard company.

You are ready? Maybe not, study some languages like javascript, php and mysql... And stay learning... So, you wil be prepared!
Maybe for graphic designer, but you still need some theory for this, like colors, and other stuff
and for web you are defenitly not prepare

I don't absolutely agree with you. I've seen front-end developers and this is the only software and languages they use. Plus I went to school to study all this, so I can say that I know what is going on behind the buttons. That's why you study HTML, CSS, Actionscript so you can customize all this that people see on your website but customize it using the code.Anyways, thank you!

No, for real - knowing how to use a graphic Frontend like the Adobe Package has nothing to do with creativity, design or programming. You need to learn about the technologies behind the buttons in your software, and how to use them - then you can use the tools to build your stuff faster. That´s the only way you will learn how to troubleshoot a problem if it turns up - and some programming language or script language liek php should be useful ;)
